What a lovely way to start the month of May, with the coronation of King Charles and Queen Consort, Camilla. I am sure there are many celebrations planned across the country. At St.Vincents, we are coronation ready and have invited the friends and families of the home to a lovely buffet, whilst we watch the day unfold. The chef is currently preparing the Kings chosen Quiche, which includes a filling of spinach, broad beans and tarragon!
The rest of the month is filled with many other activities, including other days of celebration, such as International Nurses Day, Diversity Day and National scavenger hunt day. My personal favourite will be International Wine tasting day on the 25th!
May will also be the time to get the garden used to its full potential. The residents have chosen several fruit and vegetables that they would like to grow after the tomatoes were such a success last year.
Angela, from St Stephens church, will be stopping by on the 17th to carry out a songs of praise morning with the residents and anyone else who might like to join in. The residents are getting into practice for this today, with a karaoke morning in the lounge! We may even have our own choir by Christmas.
If any of these activities sound like something you or one of your family may enjoy, do not forget you can pop along and spend the day with us, inclusive of lunch. All you need to do is call the home and get more information or ask any questions on 01424 211244. We also have rooms of respite or permanent care available.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Until next time 😊
Jo, Emma and the team.
