Hello All!
Well I am not sure what has happened to Augusts sunshine, but we are still in Summer spirits!
The Annual Strawberry Cream Tea event went well, with a huge turn out from families, friends and faces of days gone by. It was so refreshing after a long time without such a big celebration. All the activities organised for the day went down a storm, including a huge raffle with many big prizes and a hook a duck (albeit out in the rain!). The strawberry cream tea was also delicious.
I just want to say a huge thank you to all those that donated prizes, especially from shops in the local community. I also want to thank staff of the past for volunteering to help on stalls and games. It was so lovely to see our old chef, Sue back in the limelight as Queen of Strawberry Cream Teas. Lastly, I want to give a special shout out to the homes Deputy Manager, Emma, without whose input and creativity, the day would not have been half as successful.
The residents enjoyed both professional singers we had during July. Elvis is an old favourite, and Ben White, who came and entertained at the cream tea, were both excellent; really great voices and very engaging. The ladies especially loved his performance!
I know it may be a bit to early to talk Christmas, but we will soon be thinking of the Christmas party and the raffle and entertainment. We will keep you all in the loop.
